Contact Information

Email

The best way to reach me is via email to bruce at perens dot com. If you don't hear back from me, try writing again, or call. It's not that I don't like you, it's because I'm so busy that I sometimes miss a message. Also, since spammers have ruined the reliability of email for everyone, there's a chance that your message got stuck in my spam filter or wasn't delivered.

Cryptography

My GPG public key is here. It is to be used to identify me. Please do not use this key to send me any sort of secret unless I've already agreed to receive it. For some reason the people I most regret communicating with can be identified by their desire to protect email conversation using cryptography. I may discard unsolicited cryptographic messages without reading them.

Phone

My direct phone number is 510-984-1055. This rings in my home and office. Please be conscious of the California time zone, the line is set to refuse calls from 10 PM to 7 AM. It usually won't take messages while it's refusing calls. Sorry, that's a phone company bug. Sometimes I have the line set to send calls directly to voice-mail. I may be able to get your voice-mail via internet, but in general email is a better way to leave me a message.

Cell Phone

Write me if you need my cell number. Press are especially welcome. I carry a GSM phone, which can be reached via a US number when I am in most places other than Japan and Africa these days. If you know I'm traveling, please be conscious of the time zone. I may turn off the phone or set it to refuse calls while I'm asleep.

Secrets and NDAs

I will enter into bilateral non-disclosure agreements routinely for customers and business partners, and sometimes when this is necessary for some Open Source leadership issue. NDAs must be bilateral, I won't agree to any terms that are not also binding upon you.

VoIP

I have some SIP equipment and can access Skype when necessary, but don't yet have that stuff up all of the time.
